MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives, was unanimously elected President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean.
MP Mohamed Abu El-Enein was elected President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean after receiving the votes of all parliament speakers and representatives who participated in the Assembly’s summit held in Spain in April 2025.
It is worth noting that the Assembly comprises 43 parliaments representing all European Union countries and non-European Mediterranean countries, in addition to the European Parliament, which was established in 2004 and is the parliamentary organization of the Union for the Mediterranean.
