Abou El-Enein thanks President El-Sisi for the “Digital Pioneers” initiative
Abou El-Enein He raises strategic questions about the future of the Egyptian economy amid regional conditions
Abou El-Enein To the government:
* What is the plan to address challenges related to the Suez Canal, tourism, and gas?
* How can we attract Egyptians’ funds from abroad and transform Egypt into an investment fortress?
* The current figures do not fully reflect the true reality of Egypt’s economy
MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, confirmed that Egypt stands on the front lines and, despite that, is courageously facing the most dangerous situation in its history, pointing out that we are facing challenges and plans aimed at redrawing a new Middle East.
This came during the general session of the House of Representatives, chaired by Speaker Hanafy Gebaly, to discuss the report of the Planning and Budget Committee on the draft economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026, the draft state general budget, and the draft budgets of the economic public authorities and the National Organization for Military Production for the same fiscal year.
In light of this, Abou El-Enein asked about the government’s plan to deal with the challenges that Egypt will face in the coming period and how they will be addressed.
The Deputy Speaker questioned: What is the plan regarding the Suez Canal, tourism, gas, and supply chains, especially since all of these have now become threatened?
Abou El-Enein continued by saying that the current figures do not reflect the full reality of the Egyptian economy. He asked how a specific “target” can be set for each governorate, how we can attract the funds of Egyptians abroad, how to plan for all investment opportunities, and how to transform Egypt into a fortress for investment. He stressed the need for an unconventional economic revolution, noting that 60% of the population is composed of youth, who must be utilized for creativity and production.
He also extended his thanks to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for launching the “Digital Pioneers” (Digilians) initiative, which aims to train and qualify youth in the fields of communications, information technology, and software development. He emphasized that this initiative is a fundamental pillar for digital transformation and for boosting digital exports, which represent one of the main pillars of national economic development.
