Abou El-Enein during his participation in the UN Conference on the Two-State Solution :
MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives and President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, participated in the United Nations Conference on the Two-State Solution held at the UN General Assembly in New York, describing the atmosphere as truly historic.
He explained that all participating leaders and delegations stood as one in support of Palestine and its people — united in proclaiming justice and peace, in restoring the Palestinian people’s rights to their land, and in rejecting displacement and the loss of Palestinian territory.
In press remarks during the conference, Abou El-Enein expressed his profound satisfaction at this long-awaited moment, as more than 150 countries, including the United Kingdom (the country behind the Balfour Declaration), Portugal, France, Canada, Australia, and others, officially recognized the independent State of Palestine.
He described this recognition as a historic step that reflects broad international consensus in favor of the Two-State Solution and the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean extended his gratitude to Egypt and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for their tireless efforts and swift diplomatic moves to counter the Israeli displacement plan, set clear red lines, and reveal the truth before the international community.
He affirmed that without Egypt’s position and President El-Sisi’s leadership, the Palestinian people would have faced an unknown fate, and the Palestinian cause and land could have been lost, emphasizing that history will record Egypt’s noble and heroic role in defending Palestine and its people.
Abou El-Enein praised the strong participation of the Egyptian delegation, headed by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, noting that the world’s recognition of the State of Palestine confirms that there is no alternative to a political settlement based on the Two-State Solution.
He stressed that establishing an independent Palestinian state in line with international legitimacy is the foundation for peace, stability, security, and coexistence among all peoples of the region.
He further affirmed that international recognition of the State of Palestine is only a first step that must be followed by urgent action from the international community to secure a ceasefire in Gaza, ensure unrestricted delivery of humanitarian aid, facilitate the exchange of hostages and detainees, and take practical measures to turn the State of Palestine into a tangible reality on the ground.
During his participation in the Two-State Solution session, MP Abou El-Enein engaged in extensive diplomatic activities and discussions in the corridors of the United Nations.
He held a series of high-level meetings with several world leaders, during which he expressed his deep appreciation for their significant decision to recognize the State of Palestine.
Among those he met were His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar; President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa of Portugal; President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen; Prince Albert II of Monaco; and Prime Minister Luc Frieden of Luxembourg.
Abou El-Enein reiterated that this collective recognition represents a defining moment in international efforts toward justice and peace, and called on all world leaders to translate this moral and political stance into concrete measures to protect civilians and advance the establishment of the Palestinian state.
