Egypt United at One Table… Abou El-Enein Foundation Provides Meals for 20,000 Fasting People Daily Through the Largest Iftar Table in Giza

As part of the “Egypt United at One Table” initiative organized by the National Alliance for Civil Development Work during the holy month of Ramadan, the Abou El-Enein Foundation for Charitable and Cultural Work participated through its major Ramadan table, considered one of the largest “Mawaed Al-Rahman” in Giza Governorate. The table provides nearly 20,000 meals daily, including both iftar and suhoor, in addition to mobile vehicles that roam the streets to offer iftar to passers-by, and teams responsible for delivering meals to the homes of families unable to attend.

The Foundation stated that its participation in this initiative comes within the framework of its community role under the umbrella of the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, and its commitment to taking part in all initiatives aimed at supporting the most vulnerable families, especially during Ramadan, which witnesses a significant increase in feeding activities and food assistance programs.

Mostafa Ezzat, the Foundation’s Director, explained that the work at the Ramadan table operates through an integrated system involving hundreds of volunteers who work daily to prepare meals, organize the table, and carry out field distribution, under the directives of MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, Chairman of the Board, and under the supervision of Mrs. Somaya Abou El-Enein, Vice Chairwoman of the Board. He noted that the teams’ efforts are not limited to serving food at the table itself, but extend to mobile vehicles reaching metro and train stations as well as highways, in addition to home visits to humanitarian cases that are identified in advance.

He added that the Foundation succeeded during Ramadan this year in distributing nearly 350,000 meals across various areas, within the framework of an organized action plan based on accurate field assessment and full coordination with the institutions of the National Alliance, ensuring that support reaches those entitled to it in an orderly manner that preserves human dignity.

Several volunteers participating in the initiative indicated that this year’s work witnessed broad participation from young people, as teams were divided into groups responsible for preparation, cooking, packaging, distribution, and follow-up. They emphasized that the spirit of cooperation among volunteers was the main reason behind their ability to handle the large number of meals provided daily.

They also affirmed that the “Egypt United at One Table” initiative reflects a true image of Egyptian society, where institutions and volunteers unite around one goal: ensuring that goodness reaches every home, and that every individual feels that someone is standing by their side, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.
