On Tuesday, Major General Ibrahim Abu Limon, Governor of Menoufia, and Ambassador Nabila Makram, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Alliance for Civil and Development Work, inaugurated the second comprehensive development convoy in the village of Al-Iraqiya, located in the Al-Shohada district. The event is part of the “One Hand” initiative, launched by the National Alliance to deliver integrated healthcare and social services to the most vulnerable families.
The Abou El-Enein Foundation for Social and Cultural Activities participated in the convoy by distributing approximately 600 food boxes and 350 gifts for children.
Amid a warm reception from the local community, the Governor and Ambassador toured the medical services provided at the Al-Iraqiya Family Health Unit. These included the “1,000 Golden Days” family counseling room, clinics for internal medicine, orthopedics, ear, nose and throat (ENT), ophthalmology, in addition to mobile clinics and Ra’i Misr mobile health units. They also visited additional activities held at the Al-Iraqiya Youth Center.
During the visit, Governor Abu Limon distributed financial assistance, 2,000 food boxes, half a ton of meat, and free food vouchers to underprivileged families — with a total value exceeding EGP 1.25 million — as part of the governorate’s contribution to supporting the convoy’s mission.
The Governor praised the critical role played by all institutions within the National Alliance for Civil and Development Work, describing it as a non-governmental umbrella organization that effectively supports the Egyptian state’s tireless efforts to achieve comprehensive development. He emphasized that these convoys represent a model for impactful social action, aiming to expand the reach of services, support the most in-need populations, enhance living standards, and ensure quality public services — in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Ambassador Nabila Makram emphasized the importance of ongoing coordination and full cooperation between executive authorities and civil society organizations in delivering care, solidarity, and integrated development for vulnerable families. She commended the Menoufia Governor’s hands-on leadership and his continued support for initiatives that ease the burden on low-income families.
As part of its broad mission, the convoy delivered a diverse package of free services — including medical care, food, clothing, and humanitarian aid — across the Family Health Unit, Youth Center, and Veterinary Unit. The initiative served more than 15,000 beneficiaries, with the participation of 14 organizations from the National Alliance.
Services included:
Specialized medical clinics in various fields and free medication.
Home delivery of food supplies (boxes, bags, and meat) to eligible families.
Debt relief support for indebted men and women.
Assistive devices and prosthetics for people with disabilities.
Applications for micro-projects with full funding provided free of charge.
Recreational activities and the distribution of gifts and toys for children.
