Headed by MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean, an international parliamentary delegation paid a visit to Saint Catherine’s Monastery on the sidelines of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary meetings held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The delegation included members of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly, the European Parliament, as well as several members of the Egyptian House of Representatives.

The delegation was received by Mabrouk El-Ghamriny, Mayor of Saint Catherine City, along with monastery officials, who warmly welcomed the visitors and provided them with an in-depth presentation about the monastery’s rich history and its unique religious and archaeological treasures.

This visit came as part of the delegation’s tour to explore Egypt’s historical and religious landmarks, reaffirming the monastery’s status as one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world and a holy site symbolizing the unity of civilizations.

During the tour, members of the delegation visited the monastery’s sacred sites and held cordial conversations with the monks.
From the blessed land of Mount Sinai, MP Mohamed Abou El-Enein conveyed a message of peace to the entire world from Saint Catherine’s Monastery — the Land of Divine Revelation.
