Abou El-Enein calls on Iraqi President to review Industrial, technological progress achieved by Egypt

Businessman Mohamed Abou El-Enein, the Honorary President of Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM), called on Iraqi President Fuad Masum on Tuesday to review what has been achieved by Egypt in terms of industrial and technological progress during the last four years, which witnessed a modern renaissance in the Egyptian state.

Abou El-Enein said that Egypt is the fourth industrial country in the world in the ceramic industry, and there are more than 40 ceramics factories based on advanced industries and modern technology.

Abou El-Enein assured that Egypt has more than 50 industrial cities specialized in the accumulation of technical expertise that could be transferred to the Iraqi industry market.

He highlighted that Egypt has achieved much regarding infrastructure, housing, industrial cities, agriculture, and ports.

During his meeting with the Iraqi president and Iraqi officials in Baghdad, Abou El-Enein stressed the necessity to facilitate procedures and eliminate bureaucracy, praising the efforts made by Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab in this regard.

Abou El-Enein lauded the deep-rooted and close relation between Egypt and sisterly country Iraq.

Iraq’s ambassador to Egypt Habib Hadi Al-Sadr stated on January 6 on the sidelines of the Iraqi embassy’s celebration of the 97th anniversary of the foundation of the Iraqi army that a joint presidential Egyptian-Iraqi committee will be formed to sign several Memoranda of Understandings in different fields.

Noteworthy, Iraqi President Fuad Masum received Eng. Ibrahim Mahlab, the president’s assistant for national projects who is currently in a visit to Iraq.

At the beginning of the meeting, Mahlab conveyed the greetings of President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi to his Iraqi counterpart.

Mahlab said that the visit comes upon president Sisi’s directives to emphasize Egypt’s supportive stance towards Iraq, as well as to congratulate Iraq on its victory over terrorism.

The Iraqi president expressed his great happiness and appreciation to president Sisi and his role in achieving stability in Egypt and in the region.

Masum expressed his aspiration to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries, stressing the keenness of the Iraqi government and people to make the Egyptian companies top priority in reconstruction and development projects of Iraq.
