Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament Mohamed Abou El-Enein said that the GDP growth in Egypt increased significantly, as it has exceeded 5.6%, adding that gas and oil discoveries are flourishing and expanding, as we have succeeded in meeting self-sufficiency in LNG, and now exporting the remaining abroad.

He added that the occupancy rate in hotels reached 90%, which signals the return of tourism in the country.

This came during his participation in the activities of the 30th annual conference of the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations (NCUSAR), with major political and economic figures from the United States and the Arab world.

Abou El-Enein presented a documentary film at the virtual conference on the achievements of the Egyptian state in the past 7 years in all sectors.

The deputy speaker said that Egypt has made great achievements during this period, including the completion of the new administrative capital, 3 times larger than Cairo, and is considered the largest smart city in the world.

He added: “Two months ago, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi announced the new republic, and this means a lot to the lives of Egyptians. The president also announced the abolition of the state of emergency in Egypt, which means the spread of security and stability throughout the country.”

“We are defeating terrorism that stands in the face of humanity, and progress,” he said, adding that religious radicals try to distort religion and have nothing to do with Islamic thought and its instructions.

Abou El-Enein stressed that 28 Egyptian governorates are receiving attention from the political leadership, as President Sisi launched a huge development program that is changing the lives of 58 million Egyptians at a cost of EGP 700 billion, with 14,000 different projects that focus on the neediest groups.

“What took place in Egypt in the past 6 years goes beyond what has been established in 20 years,” he concluded.

Abou El-Enein: Biden Admin “Realized” Egypt’s Role in Region … Partnership with US Important for ME
Deputy Speaker Mohamed Abou el-Enein sent an important message to the American public, during his virtual speech before the National Council on US-Arab Relations (NCUSAR), with the participation of political and military leaders in the Arab region, the Middle East, and the U.S.

Abou El-Enein said that many details are not known to the American public about Egypt, and there are those who deliberately deliver a negative image of the country, at a time when it is taking quantum leaps towards development and growth.

The deputy speaker stressed that the U.S. administration headed by President Joe Biden realized Egypt’s important role in the region, especially after it succeeded in making a ceasefire in Gaza, and is about to help reach a settlement between the Palestinians and the Israelis, in addition to its role to help bring peace in Libya and Iraq.

He added that the Egyptian-American partnership is of great importance in maintaining peace and stability in the region.

He confirmed that Egypt had stopped a disaster that was about to happen in Lybia due to the intervention of foreign fighters and ISIS in Libya, saying: “We warned about the situation in Libya and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi set red lines there to preserve the unity of the Libyan people.”

Abou El-Enein stressed that Egypt does not interfere in Libya’s internal affairs, pointing out that the presence of foreign fighters there threatens the entire region.
